Mizoram The youngest state Mizoram, formerly known as the Lushai Hills is situated in the Norrth Eastern Corner of India. It is flanked by Bangladesh and Tripura in the West and Burma in the East. Aizwal is the capital of Mizoram. Entry Formalities Foreign tourists intending to visit Mizoram require Restricted Area Permits issued by the All Foreigners Regional Registration Offices (FRRO) in Kolkata (Calcutta), Delhi & Mumbai (Bombay). Cheif Immigration Office, Chennai (Madras) & All Indian Mission Abroad. Inner line permits for Indian tourists are issued through The Deputy Director cum-Liaison Officer, 24 Old Ballygunge Road, Kolkata (Calcutta) - 700 019, Tel: 247-7034.The permits can also be obtained from the Laision Officer of The Government of Mizoram, Mizoram House, Rangir Kharia, Silchar, Assam, Tel : 559, 659, 754; Mizoram House, Laision Officer, Zoo Road, Guwahati- 781 005, Tel : 87091. Application should be submitted in the prescribed profroma available from the above office on arrival in Guwahati/Silchar. The forms should be completed in person together with two passport size photograhs signed in the presence of the Laision Officer and should put your signature in the office register.
